Walter M. Bortz II Linus Pauling Institute, at Oregon State University
Dr. Linus Pauling, one of the world's greatest scientists and humanitarians, was a good friend of Dr. Bortz. Dr. Pauling was the only person ever to receive two unshared Nobel Prizes — for Chemistry (1954) and for Peace (1962). Dr. Pauling passed away in 1994.
